Baguio, Vigan, Laoag, Pangasinan, Bataan, Zambales, Olongapo, Quezon, Lucena, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan at Bicol.

For Irresponsible Reporting: Ang Dating Daan Boycotts GMA7 TV Network!

Manila, Philippines (8/23/2011) – To boycott is to punish. After two years GMANews has not learned its lesson. Its habit for biased and irresponsible reporting cannot anymore pass. It has been slapped with a massive boycott throughout the country from Ang Dating Daan (ADD) until the network renders a public apology to its victim, Bro. Eli Soriano. This is as far as the organization of Bro. Eli is concerned.

Bro. Eli is the Presiding Minister to the Members Church of God International (MCGI) or Ang Dating Daan (ADD) as more popularly known.

The sustained boycott of the international organization began on August 7 and is way on to its third week. For a network that doesn’t favor truth, members were reminded to delete Channels 7 and 11 in their TV programs.

Under the Blue Sky

What day is it? And in what month? This clock never seemed so alive, I can’t keep up and I can’t back down I’ve been losing so much time

Cause it’s you and me and all of the people with nothing to do, Nothing to lose, And it’s you and me and all of the people, And I don’t know why, I can’t keep my eyes off of you

Happy 3rd Quarter Thanksgiving!

The Members Church of God International (MCGI) will hold its third quarter International Thanksgiving this year on September 3 to 5, 2010, with the ADD Convention Center in Apalit, Pampanga as its main base.

Bro. Eli Soriano, the Presiding Minister of MCGI, recently announced the dates for the three-day International Thanksgiving, in response to inquiries of members from chapters worldwide.

It has been customary for the congregants to ask for the next thanksgiving calendar right after the previous grand assembly. This way, members can right away allow themselves full physical and spiritual preparation before the upcoming event.

Among the most-anticipated part of the International Thanskgiving is Bro. Eli Soriano’s deep discussion of topics about the mysteries and wisdom of the Bible. For years this segment has not only awed the members, but has also enlightened and captured the interest of visitors. Some visitors are eventually led to a more in-depth study of the Scriptures and become members.

MCGI considers the International Thanksgiving as an opportunity to see their fellow brethren from distant regions, continue doing good works, offer thanksgiving, and reflect on the new and interesting topics prepared by Bro. Eli Soriano.

Every Saturday, Philippine time, the Church conducts regular thanksgiving services. This practice had been the trademark of the organization, and by far, is the only religious group which frequently offers thanksgiving to God. (Posted by: Cecile Vizcaya)

Rescue First Before News! First in RP!

Which would you prioritize: To report the news or to help the victim?

Broadcast journalist Daniel Razon took his stand on this query when he introduced Tulong Muna Bago Balita (Rescue First Before News), both as the new news tagline and advocacy, during UNTV’s 6th anniversary celebration held at the World Trade Center in Pasay City, Philippines on July 18.

The advocacy, pioneered through the UNTV News Team, encourages media people to save lives first before reporting the news. With the other public services that Mr. Razon carries out, Tulong Muna Bago Balita is another leap to provide more genuine service to the public.

“Our fellowmen are more important than anything else, more than getting and delivering news,” Mr. Razon said.

He further explained that being the first to get the scoop would be useless if the man, who might have a chance to live if rescued, died on the scene. “It appears that you are instrumental to his death. While we have the capability to rescue, why don’t we help the people first to take them out of their agonies,” the broadcast journalist added.

To set the system rolling, Mr. Razon sent the UNTV News Team to an emergency response training (ERT) course even before he made the official announcement about the advocacy. With the help of Search and Rescue Unit Foundation, Inc. (SARUF), a recognized army rescue unit in the Philippines, reporters, drivers, and cameramen of UNTV across the country are being trained to be rescuers – from the application of first aid for various accidents to technical search and rescue efforts.

UNTV is the first media entity in the Philippines to have undergone the emergency response training, and its personnel are the first in their field to acquire the skill to save lives of those in need according to SARUF President Jerry Carual. He also expressed his gratitude to Mr. Razon for such advocacy that shares the same goal as their foundation – to save lives of their fellowmen.

Razon, who is UNTV’s Chief Executive Officer, plans to have all the station’s employees in the country learn the same emergency response skill as he readies UNTV correspondents abroad to go through similar training with the help of the United States rescue trainers.

After passing ERT, UNTV News Team was renamed UNTV News and Rescue Team.

Besides Tulong Muna Bago Balita, Razon also leads numerous outreach programs and public services like daily free medical missions, free legal assistance, free train, bus, and jeepney rides, free air fare for Overseas Filipino Worker, free private college education, transient homes, and many others. Today, he is known as the Philippines’ Mr. Public Service for his continued efforts to provide assistance to anyone, anytime, anywhere.

For his great contribution to the media industry, Razon earned several recognition from international award-giving bodies including this year’s Shorty Awards where he was the only Filipino finalist for Best Journalist category. Also this year, Netherlands-based Ode Magazine featured him as Intelligent Optimist. This sets him apart as a paradigm of true media man and as a man withthe heart of a true public servant.

My Hummer

Like Nothing Else

Hummer was a marque of trucks sold by General Motors. The original Hummer H1 was based on the military High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV, or Humvee). However, the Hummer H2 and the Hummer H3 were based on other, smaller civilian-market vehicles.

Since all Hummer vehicles have heavy-duty capabilities, they have been employed by owners for aid in large disaster situations. Hummer Owners Prepared for Emergencies (HOPE) was created by the efforts of The Hummer Club, INC. and the American Red Cross. Together, the two organizations train Hummer owners with CPR and first aid skills, and basic off-highway skills so that they may assist victims during a disaster situation. GM paid the Red Cross $4 million to participate in the organization.

UFC Boss Loves Pacquiao

NEW YORK — Mixed martial arts isn’t quite sanctioned yet in the state of New York, but that didn’t stop the UFC from invading the Radio City Music Hall on Wednesday for its pre-fight press conference for this weekend’s event at the Prudential Center in nearby Newark, N.J.

White is known for sitting down with the media following press conferences and shooting straight answers to any questions they may have leading up to an event. Here are some highlights from the recent chat.

‘I love Manny Pacquiao’

White was one of the many celebrities that showed up for the highly anticipated boxing match between Manny Pacquiao and Joshua Clottey on March 13 in Arlington, Texas. The fight was the first main-event boxing match at the newly built Dallas Cowboys Stadium.

Many believed White’s main reason for attending the bout was to determine whether he could take a UFC event there in the future.

However White said he wanted to go to the fight for the same reason the rest of the near-51,000 crowd wanted to go — to see Pacquiao.

“I went there to watch Manny Pacquiao,” White said. “Then I did end up seeing the stadium and saying, ‘Wow, this is nice. We could do this.’ Even though that fight sucked, it wasn’t Manny Pacquiao’s fault. He went after it so much to the point where he was dropping his hands hoping Clottey would open up.

“I think Manny Pacquiao is boxing right now. The thing I love about him is when you start hitting him, he starts firing back. He doesn’t budge. I love Manny Pacquiao.”

My Pretty Baby Ana

My Baby Ana – Butterfly

When you love someone so deeply, they become your life.  It’s easy to succumb to overwhelming fears inside. Blindly I imagined I could keep you under glass. Now I understand to hold you, I must open up my hands and watch you rise. Spread you wings and prepare to fly, for you have become a butterfly. Fly abandonedly into the sun. If you should return to me, we truly were meant to be, so spread your wings and fly .. Butterfly
